Artist Statement: “Galactic Blackness” is a 3-hour exploration of Blackness. Hidden within the art are adinkra, Choctaw, and Ayitian veve symbols to represent the layers of our heritage and our relationship to natural.
Shauntrice Martin is an abolitionist and mother living in Kentucky. She works as a lobbyist for KFTC and a food apartheid fighter for the West End. Her work has been featured at the Chao Archives Collection (University of Louisville) and the Speed Art Museum (Louisville, KY).
